From Marrakech to Amersfoort
Growing up in Marrakech
Hello, I'm Hind, the ceramist behind The Unique Touch. I grew up in Marrakech, surrounded by colour, texture, and handmade traditions. In the narrow streets of the souks, I watched artisans shape clay, carve wood, and create textiles, always with patience and care. I loved seeing how something simple could become something beautiful and full of meaning. That feeling stayed with me, even when life took me in another direction.
Following my passion for ceramics
After my studies, I worked in an office job, steady, but not something that made me feel connected. Moving to the Netherlands gave me the space to reconnect with a slower, more creative way of working. It started small, just trying clay out, but it quickly became a quiet passion. I spent hours learning, making mistakes, and slowly finding my own way. That's how The Unique Touch began, a small studio where I create simple, hand-built pieces in small batches. Each one is shaped with care and meant to be used, held, and enjoyed for a long time.

A Small Selection, Chosen With Care
Each one shaped by hand and glazed one at a time, so no two are ever quite the same. Here are a few worth a closer look.
Two clays, one wheel, and a pattern that can never be repeated in quite the same way. The soft cream and deep earthy lines come naturally from two different clays turning together as the mug is shaped.
Each mug is thrown by hand in stoneware, combining two contrasting clay bodies directly on the wheel. As they move together, the clays create their own layers, lines and little shifts in colour. Nothing is painted on, the pattern you see is the clay itself. Even the handle carries those natural variations, making the whole piece feel connected from one side to the other.
Because the two clays mix differently every time they meet on the wheel, no two mugs will ever have exactly the same pattern.

A little school of blue fish circles the mug, with a surprise waiting inside. Turn it in your hands and the fish seem to swim around the soft stoneware surface, while scattered blue speckles fill the inside with a playful splash of colour.
Each mug is shaped and decorated by hand, with the little fish moving around the lower edge in their own slightly irregular way. The outside stays calm and simple, making the blue details stand out, while the speckled interior gives you something lovely to discover with every sip.
At approximately 6 cm tall and 8 cm in diameter, with a capacity of around 260 ml, it is a comfortable size for coffee, tea or whatever your everyday pause happens to be.
Because every mug is made and decorated by hand, the shape, fish and blue speckles will vary slightly from piece to piece.

These porcelain hoops are shaped by hand and finished with a playful pattern of little blue dots on soft white porcelain. Their rounded shape gives them a light, easy feel, while the gold-coloured hooks add just a touch of warmth.
At approximately 3 cm, they are noticeable without feeling too much - an easy pair to reach for on an ordinary day, or whenever your outfit needs a small bit of colour.
